On February 15, 2024, the third issue of the Contemporary World Economy Journal was published online. Dzhanneta Medzhidova compares two major crises of recent years and their consequences in the context of solving global problems on the example of SDG 1 (poverty eradication). Petr Mozias traces how the efforts of many economists and historians have gradually developed the concept of the “Malthusian trap.” Natalia Petrovskaya investigates the development of the labor market in the United States with a focus on its originality in the period from 2020 to 2023. Ekaterina Makarova, Kirill Lysenko, and Elizaveta Smolovik discuss the green bond market in the new environment. Alexandra Morozkina and Leonid Grigoryev discuss the NDB’s contribution to sustainable development goals. Olga Klochko studies the current trends in the regulation of foreign direct investment, caused by ongoing changes in the interaction of individual countries and their groupings. Paulo Nogueira Batista Jr., the former Vice President of the NDB and former Executive Director for Brazil and other countries in the IMF shares his vision for the BRICS currency.
